Autumn has been very busy in both Guatemala and Canada.
In Chuk Muk, the sewing group is honing their skills. They have now started making simple blouses.
They are, also, starting to get paid for the items they make and are enjoying the increase in income. They are getting paid by the piece, therefore, as they get more adapt their income rises.

The third group of middle school students just graduated from the Basico that Aldea Maya started in 2012. The girls embroidered the lovely guipils and beaded the fajas ( blouse and belt) they are wearing in Home Economics class. Not to be left out, the boys beaded belts too.
80 % of the graduating class is fully sponsored and will be heading off to high school. This is amazing when one considers that less than 1% graduate high school.

Earlier this year, Marvin’s family received a garden with our IMAP partnership. The family has been enjoying having fresh, organic food in their front yard.
As you can see they have a bumper crop of sweet potatoes.
The family also has bananas, chaya, limes and oranges from our elementary school program.
