We have exciting news. Our learning centre is moving to a permanent location. For the last 10 years we have been renting houses in Chuk Muk. We take these houses and spend a lot of money adding kitchens, metal doors, bars on the windows, gardens and outdoor teaching spaces. Then the owners want them back.

The Chu Muk community has decided to give us 2 large building for our learning centre. These buildings were constructed around 15 years ago with lovely thatch roofs. Unfortunately the thatch roofs were not maintained and are now very leaky. These roof were also not very secure. We have a very big project ahead of us as we make these building into functional learning areas that meet the needs of the community.

Here we have one of our college graduates, Jamill, removing the electrics before we take down the roof. Jamill graduated as an electrician and now works for the city of Santiago Atitlan. He will be rewiring the updated building.
