In January, Aldea Maya was pleased to be able to help a new group of students get student sponsorship in Chuk Muk.
We believe in not only helping the student to attend school but in helping the family to be healthier. One way we can help our families is by ensuring they have a functioning ONIL energy efficient wood burning stove. In the last week we were able to get one family a new stove
and to repair 2 stoves through our partnership with Tui’k Ruch Lew. These stoves use 70% less wood, give the families a raised metal surface for making tortillas or using pots as well as a chimney to remove harmful smoke. Thank you Lazzarino family and Charity Painting for making this possible.
