Road tripping

This year we have 13 students graduating high school. Quite an accomplishment. We want to help give them the best opportunities for their future. One of those opportunities is a scholarship to San Carlos University. San Carlos is an almost free university that offers well over 100 career choices…..like doctor, dentist, physiotherapist, civil engineer…careers we cannot afford to send students on but are much needed in the community.

We needed to rent a van and take the students to Guatemala City to write these exams. The trip can take over 5 hours each way due to traffic.  Each student will have to write a minimum of 3 exams. These exams are very difficult. This is our 4th year having students graduate high school and we have had one student be successful in receiving a San Carlos scholarship…..Miguel who is studying to be a teacher and teacher administrator.

Two missed our 2:30 AM leaving time and one student is a Mormon and is doing a 2 year mission trip when he graduates high school. And unfortunately 4 students could not write the exams because SCU did not accept their high school credentials. In these credentials the high school forgot to put the graduating year on the card….aaaargh now we have to pay for another trip. Any donations to help us pay for these trips would be really appreciated.
