We also discussed the need to go home and tell their mom’s and older sisters what they have learned…that you need to consume Folate in the first 3 weeks of pregnancy…before you know you are pregnant. Next they learned about plant care. Each student received a mandarine or lime tree plus a bag of organic compost. In the afternoon back in Panajachel we met up with our University student Rebeca. She is now in second year studying Business Administration. Her sponsor Gerri bought her a laptop which she was very excited to receive. She is going to try to email her sponsor a letter in English.
