Today we had a lovely meeting with our high school students…… all 25 of them.

We wanted to meet with them to discus what are expectations are for them….like a 75% average and volunteering to help others. We explained the difficulties that the Chuk Muk students have in getting scholarships as they are not fluent in Spanish due to them talking Tzu’tujil most of the time.

We talked about strategies to help this…like reading books from our library and talking to their friends only in Spanish. We also set up extra tutoring for the students graduating this year.

We have 13 students graduating and we know it may be difficult to get money for everyone to go to university. ( let us know if you want to help) Therefore if a few get full tuition scholarships we will have more money  to help the rest. In addition, several would like to be doctors or physiotherapists. These programs are way to expensive for our charity…so scholarships are their only hope.
