What fun we had today!!!!
We picked up 2 volunteers in the city…Vicki and Graham Calder from Nanaimo. We had to leave Santiago at 5 in the morning. In the van we had Jaime, our manager, 6 Basico students and myself. The 6 students are all from 3rd year Basico and many of them had never visited the capital.

Every time we go into the city we are going to take some of the 3rd year Basico students. In this way we will be able to give every third year student a wonderful field trip.

Our first stop was the Museum of Natural History. We were really fortunate that the museum was not busy, because the man at the entrance was able to give us a wonderful tour.
Our tour guide was fantastic…he so loves his museum and was a wonderful teacher. We learned about the big bang theory, about continental drift, environmental issues, species native to Guatemala. He was able to keep us all interested for 2 hours.
