Today we once again headed over to Chukumuk in a pickup. Miguel, Charlie and a Mayan Families volunteer were going over to construct a half door on the preschool.
We were loaded up with 14 gravity feed water filters. These filters will give a family 2 years of safe drinking water. We were able to buy them because of our Christmas card sales. We handed them out to students in our Basico. This was a bit of a disaster due to the Mayan Families worker who was suppose to help not arriving in time – but this is the third world and if you can not handle a change in plans then you are in trouble.
So the driver of the truck showed us how to put them together. Laura, the MF student sponsor coordinator knew items like not to use the first filtered water.
